A prisoner has clearly defined cell bars, tall concrete walls topped with barbed wire, sniper towers, and vulgar guards that let them know they are property. The structure of modern society is infinitely more complex, yet just as oppressive.
You can quit your job, but you can’t quit being a prol. You can’t sever your dependence on the rich to hire you, for them to make a profit off of you, while you get a lowly wage. At best you might be one of a lucky few who manages to make it into their ranks, and in turn you might be able to exploit a few hundred others.
Want an education? Well, you’ll have to spend a few decades trying to pay off student loans.
I live in a society in which a tiny minority of people make all the major decisions that affect my life, have all the power, and use it for their own interests. And I am surrounded by people who think this is natural and just go on about their business. What the fuck? This is not OK! [/rant]
